The title of the talk will be ‘The records of the Whinwell Children’s Home at Stirling Council Archives 1884 – 1927’.
The Whinwell Children’s Home was established around 1884 and managed by Miss Annie Knight Croall from that date until her death in June 1927. During that time, the Home took in around 600 children and sent over 150 of them abroad. This talk will look at how the surviving records of the Home reflect the activities of its Manager and the lives of the children in her care.
