Archives August 2011 Document of the Month
To give some idea of the archives available for access, we highlight an example below.
House Plans by Charles Rennie Mackintosh, 1906.
Mackintosh worked with the firm of Honeyman and Keppie, Glasgow from 1889 to 1913, becoming a partner in the firm in 1904. In this time he designed the buildings he would become famous for including the Glasgow School of Art and the Willow Tea Rooms. As well as the large commissions,Mackintosh also took on domestic design and as a consequence, examples of his work are scattered through Council records across Scotland.
These plans are for a house in Killearn and bear all of Mackintosh's hallmark touches.
