Trimontium Trust in Melrose and Fraser Hunter (curator of the Iron Age at NMS) and have put together a one day symposium at the National Museum in Edinburgh.
Its subject is ancient man’s relationship with metals ranging from iron to gold: how they were mined, refined and worked.
We will also take a look at frontline research into what these metals can tell us about our ancestors (see clip below).
We have top speakers from all over Europe and the meeting coincides with the fantastic Early Silver Exhibition just across the landing.
