We are a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organization (SCIO 034618), having taken over from the Garden History Society in Scotland (GHSS) in 2015. One of our aims and ambitions is to promote research into all aspects of historic gardens and landscapes, including conservation, design, historical and archaeological research and horticulture, by researchers at all levels.
To further our aim, we are holding a research seminar for new and/or inexperienced researchers on Wednesday 27th September from 10.00 to 15.30 in the Sandeman Room of the AKBell Library in Perth. There is no charge. Coffee/tea will be provided on arrival and also a sandwich lunch. We regret that our resources do not permit us to cover travel expenses.
We would be grateful if you could forward the attached Invitation and Application Form to any of your members currently involved in relevant studies.
The morning and afternoon sessions will both consist of ten-minute presentations by attendees of their topics or interests. They will be followed by discussions. The sessions will be moderated by Margaret Stewart, Architecture and Landscape Architecture, University of Edinburgh, and Margaret will provide a summing up to end the day. You will find further details in the Invitation.
