My grandfather, Ernest Anthony Wright, died in November 1942 in Operation Torch in North Africa. His regiment was stationed in Callander for commando training before they embarked from Greenock. My dad and his brothers were very young at the time, so they don’t have too many memories. We found the attached photograph of the officers of the 5th Battalion of the Northamptonshire Regiment. My grandfather is front row, 2nd from the left. Does anyone recognize this building? My family would love to know where the photo was taken. I’m taking my dad (83) to Callander and the Trossachs area in the summer, and it would be fantastic if we could visit this building.
