Historic Environment Scotland are holding what looks like an interesting event in the Tolbooth next week.
Experts will present a range of subjects, and showcase scientific techniques including thermal camera imaging and laser scanning, all of which are informing the way in which we study heritage now and in the future. As well as presentations there will be the chance to learn about emerging research from student researchers. Drinks and nibbles will be available .
Alex Paterson, CEO of Historic Environment Scotland will be introducing the evening's discussion, followed by talks from Professor Ian Simpson of Stirling University, Dr David Mitchell of Historic Environment Scotland, and Nancy Bell, Trustee of the National Heritage Science Forum.
The presentations start at 18.00, but please feel free to join the event from 16.45 for our research showcase. You can download the flyer here.
