He thinks the stream, which had originally risen on the golf course and run along Dumbarton Road (culverted long ago) was exposed in the cellar of D and J McEwan's shop on the corner of Dumbarton Rd and Port St (now Abbey National etc) where it cooled a butter and cheese store. Can anyone confirm his idea that it was called the Fleet Burn?
He himself was brought up in the building opposite, the Wolf Craig Building.
